Whittier through the Years
a Reader’s Theatre Presentation
&
WHA Annual Meeting
In honor of National Poetry Month, the Reader’s Theatre will present “Whittier Through the Years” at Amesbury Friends Meetinghouse.
Reading from a script written by the Whittier Home’s historian and senior docent, Susan Herman, will be:
- Amesbury Poet Laureate, Stephen R. Wagner reading as the young and fiery abolitionist;
- Peter Bryant reading as the nostalgic middle-aged Whittier;
- Gus Reusch, Curator of the Haverhill Birthplace reading as the elder and contemplative Whittier.
The presentation will be followed by a short Annual Meeting at 4:30 p.m. and will include refreshments in the Fellowship room at the Meetinghouse. Members are encouraged to attend to hear about events planned for 2018 and to approve the budget for 2018 as well.
The cost is $5 per person, payable at the door, to cover the cost of refreshments and rental of the Meetinghouse. Reservations can be made by calling 978-388-1337 and leaving a voice message.
We hope many of you can join us. It will be a fun way to spend a spring afternoon, and the kids will enjoy it too!
